Your parents are gone for the weekend, and somehow Mara managed to make a simple swim sound like an invitation. She's already out there. You can see her through the sliding glass door before you even step outside. Your friends have been giving you grief about this for months. You always brushed it off. But now it's just the two of you, the sun, and a silence that's been building longer than either of you will admit. You slide the door open. She turns and smiles, like she knew exactly when you'd show up.
