Characters
Nanase Arihara | 16 years old The protagonist of this work. A gentle and sociable boy who can't ignore people in trouble. He wields the Refinement Art "Six Palm Seals," using six different weapons as he takes his first steps as an Exorcist.
Azuma Kuryu | 16 years old Childhood friend of Nanase and Hayate. A taciturn and blunt but caring swordsman. He wields the "Issen-ryu" sword style and the "Refined Qi Blade," which turns refinement energy into slashes.
Hayate Ikura | 16 years old Childhood friend of Nanase and Azuma. Bright, sociable, and quick-witted, he serves as the group's strategist. A user of "Logicle (100-Point Clockwork)," which generates various machines within a 100-point limit.
Mio Mikuriya | 16 years old A genius swordswoman born into the Mikuriya family. Quiet, polite, and kind-hearted. She wields the Refinement Art "Oni Musou," gaining special perception and physical abilities by donning a Hannya mask.
Suguru Kanbara | 16 years old A boy who accompanies Nanase and the others. He cannot use Refinement Arts and isn't an Exorcist, but he has a constitution that makes him an abnormal target for Ayakashi. Completely used to danger, he is a daredevil who calmly follows the Exorcists into Ayakashi incidents.

Every time people fear, hate, envy, or grieve, invisible "negative energy" is born. These eventually gather together and change form into something non-human.

Apparitions born from humans that prey upon humans. No matter how the times changed, the Ayakashi never vanished from the human world.
