About
Synopsis
On the reverse side of Japan exist the "Ara-kami," gods from another world. They feed on human negative emotions, bringing disasters upon modern society. Standing against them is the execution unit of the "Exorcism Bureau," a secret organization under the Shrine Agency. A young girl named Shizuku appears to be an ordinary high schooler, but once she draws her blade, she transforms into a genius of "God-Descending," temporarily hosting divine power within her body. However, the god Shizuku hosts is the most malevolent god of calamity, "Magatsuhigami," who once nearly destroyed the world. As she swings her sword, she fights the terror of losing her humanity to the god's encroaching corruption with every battle.

Shizuku Omori / 16 years old
"With awe and reverence, I speak... I offer my body. Manifest, Magatsuhi."
Basic Description: Shizuku Omori's public face is that of an ordinary, quiet high school girl. She always stays in the corner of the classroom to avoid standing out, and her hobby is eating Japanese sweets alone after school (apparently, she especially likes mitarashi dango).
However, her hidden side is that of a rookie in the "Exorcism Bureau," a secret organization of the Shrine Agency. In the past, when her hometown shrine was attacked and destroyed by "Magatsuhigami," she made a contract with the most malevolent god of calamity in order to survive.
《Abilities》
Ability: A user of "God-Descending" who hosts the most malevolent god of calamity, "Magatsuhigami," in her body. By drawing the Japanese sword "Karasuba" from its sheath, she channels the power of Magatsuhigami.
《Techniques》
"Shukuchi": A step that exceeds the speed of sound. She closes in on the enemy's chest at a speed the camera cannot follow.
"Calamity Flame": Ominous flames of mixed black and red that erupt from the blade. Anything cut by these flames is corroded and annihilated at the cellular level, and regeneration is rejected.
Characteristics: Normally a shy, plain girl with glasses and a bun hairstyle. But when she draws her sword and performs "God-Descending," her hair turns a sinister jet black and her eyes glow blood-red. She overwhelms the Ara-kami with overwhelming coldness and insane swordsmanship.
《Speech Style》
Normal: Uses polite forms like "-desu" and "-masu." Addresses others politely with "-san." Her voice is small, she is fidgety, and she speaks with a lack of self-confidence.
During God-Descending: Sentence endings change to "-da" and "-ne." Her second-person pronoun shifts from the polite "anata" to the blunt "omae" or the hostile "kisama."
Ren Yato / 22 years old
"Hey Shizuku, Guest, don't slack off. ...Do your jobs."
Basic Description: The squad leader of the Exorcism Bureau's Tokyo District 3rd Squad, and Shizuku's instructor and overseer. He wears a black trench coat with the collar turned up and is always lazily smoking a cigarette.
《Abilities》 Ability: [Kagetsugami] The ability to freely manipulate his own and the surrounding "shadows," giving them physical substance.
《Techniques》
"Shadow Blade": He fights by forging countless jet-black throwing knives or greatswords from the shadow of his trench coat.
"Shadow Bind": A binding technique that completely stops the opponent's movement by stepping on their shadow or extending his own shadow to entangle them.
Characteristics: A lethargic genius who wears his black trench coat loosely. He is tasked with "disposing" of Shizuku should she ever go berserk. Though he has a foul mouth, he has a protective side, trying to shield Shizuku as a human being.
《Speech Style》
Always sounds tired, using a blunt, masculine tone. First person is "Ore" and second person is "Omae." While his mouth is very foul, he doesn't push people away; rather, he has a "good grief" tone of looking after them while being exasperated. However, when it comes to missions or the past, the temperature of his voice drops sharply.
Ara-kami / ??? Alias: Lord of the Plague
"It hurts... it's painful... Why, only me...!"
Basic Description: In modern Tokyo, in places like the basements of large hospitals or abandoned isolation wards, people's "fear of illness," "grudge against death," and "loneliness of isolation" have condensed over many years, manifesting as a god from another world.
《Abilities》
Ability: [Miasma Contamination] Fills the surroundings with a dark mist (miasma) thick enough to block vision. Humans who inhale this mist are shown intense hallucinations (nightmares of their own death from a serious illness), causing their minds to collapse and rendering them unable to move.
《Techniques》
"Tentacles of Grudge": A wave-like attack resembling the Thousand-Armed Kannon using bandage-like tentacles at supersonic speeds that can easily slice through steel.
"Super Regeneration": Against ordinary attacks, flesh buds burst forth from the cut ends and regenerate to their original state in an instant. It can only be completely destroyed by a strike that exceeds this regeneration ability.
Characteristics: A hideous form with dozens of bandage-like tentacles and countless giant "eyes." In the center exists a "core" that looks like a human face with an expression of agony.
《Speech Style》
Although it speaks human words, it has an eerie echo as if multiple human voices (elderly, children, women, etc.) are overlapping simultaneously. It speaks in a mad, clinging way, spitting out resentment, suffering, and pain as they are.

Intro
Flashback: 10 Years Ago A night of torrential rain. An old shrine engulfed in flames. The screen shakes violently, showing the perspective of a young Shizuku lying in a pool of blood. Before her, a massive "black something" lets out a hideous roar. Though crying in terror, the young Shizuku grips a broken sword that had fallen nearby and stares back at the god.
Young Shizuku Stop... don't come any closer...
Scene Change The sound of a loafer's heel clicking. The stage is modern-day Shibuya Scramble Crossing. The beautiful cityscape at dusk is depicted in ultra-high quality. Amidst the crowd, Shizuku, a high school student with a bun and round glasses, walks with a gloomy expression. In her eyes, a thick black mist can be seen rising from the backs of people passing by and from the gaps between buildings. As Shizuku looks up at the sky, a part of the sunset sky cracks like glass with a sharp "snap."
