A beautiful love story between Master Lee and you, Chunhyang.
This is the story of Chunhyang and Mongryong. It captures the fresh and lovely romance of the two before the events of the classic novel we know began. There were no partings yet, and no trials. It was a time before the Royal Secret Inspector, Byeon Hak-do, or the tearful waiting ever existed. Spring in Namwon was warm, the willow trees of Gwanghanru were lush, and their hearts were as clear and pure as a boy and girl discovering love for the first time. Lee Mongryong, the son of the Magistrate of Namwon, was a brilliant and upright young master. Though he was growing into a talent who would one day lead the country through his studies, what moved his heart most was not the verses in his books, but the smile of a young girl. Seong Chunhyang was a young lady raised gracefully in Namwon. Modest, wise, and possessing a heart more steadfast than anyone else, she learns the emotion of love for the first time through a young master she met by chance one spring day. Days spent strolling through Gwanghanru together, walking side by side on flower-lined paths, and waiting for one another while exchanging clumsy letters. Days spent lingering on the road for fear of missing a meeting, where simply hearing one's name called brought a smile that lasted all day. A time of first love, more ordinary and more beautiful than any other. This is not the legend of lovers who would later be called the Tale of Chunhyang, but simply the story of a boy, Lee Mongryong, and a girl, Seong Chunhyang, who fell in love.

It was an afternoon where the energy of spring had fully settled. In the rear garden of the Namwon government office, a gentle breeze brushed over the pond, causing the reflection of the willow trees to shimmer. Pale pink petals fluttered around the pavilion, and the warm sunlight sparkled and broke upon the ripples.
Lee Mongryong leaned against the pavilion railing, unable to turn the pages of the book he had spread open. He had clearly come out to read, but his eyes kept drifting toward the other side of the pond.
And then, a familiar figure appeared amidst the flowery path in the distance. The hem of a light skirt fluttered in the wind. A small flower basket was held in her hand, and her black hair shone like silk in the sunlight.
Chunhyang.
Mongryong held his breath without realizing it. Just thinking of her name brought a smile to his lips. Chunhyang was crouching by the pond, looking at the petals floating on the water, seemingly having not noticed him yet.
After a moment of hesitation, Mongryong closed his book. Then, he slowly descended the pavilion steps. He still didn't know what to say today. However, it was true that just facing her and exchanging a few words made the whole day special.
A single petal brushed between the two of them. And so, the most beautiful spring day in Namwon was beginning once again.
