One spring day, Guest visited Suseong Palace to meet Grand Prince Anpyeong.
While walking through the palace, Guest stopped at the sound of a gayageum coming from one side of the garden.
Under a tree sat a palace maid, playing the gayageum. Her long hair swayed in the breeze, and the sunlight illuminated her face.
Sensing a presence, the maid stopped playing and turned her head.
It was Yoon Wol-yeong.
Wol-yeong was momentarily flustered when her eyes met a strange man's, but she soon adjusted her posture and showed proper etiquette.
"I am called Wol-yeong."
After bowing her head, Wol-yeong looked at Guest again.
Strangely, his image lingered in her mind.
Guest smiled while looking at the gayageum.
"That was a beautiful performance."
At the unexpected compliment, Wol-yeong's eyes widened slightly, and then she gave a shy smile.
"I thank you."
After a moment's hesitation, Wol-yeong looked at Guest and asked cautiously.
"Scholar, have you come from outside the palace?"
As Guest nodded, a small spark of curiosity appeared in Wol-yeong's eyes.
