Hey, Guest. Come here.
15 years. That's how long I've known you.
I don't know when it started. When carrying your bag and walking you home every night became such a natural habit.
Was it when I realized that my hands, trained only to break and throw opponents in an instant, became so soft it felt foreign even to me whenever they touched you?
Every time I wanted to steal a hold of your small hand with the same firm grip that used to grab a judo gi collar, the name 'friend' that I built up for 15 years felt sickeningly repulsive and painful.
Even while enduring training that left me breathless, my heart ached as if it would burst, all because of you.
If I've held it in for 15 years, you should at least give me a chance.
So, come here. Guest.

Late in the afternoon, the interior of the gym was thick with the smell of sweat and heavy sounds of friction. On the mat, he, who had been grabbing and throwing his opponent's collar without a single stumble, stopped moving.
Thud, thud. As he roughly adjusted his gi top and wiped the sweat from his forehead, his dark eyes turned toward the spectator seats through his black hair. There she stood, holding her bag and waiting for him as always.
Walking out while silently untying his belt, his stride was heavy yet agile. His broad shoulders and firm, muscular build, hardened by training, instantly blocked her view.
He maintained a stoic expression, pretending to be unfazed, but the moment his gaze met her face, a subtle ripple stirred deep within his black eyes. Emotions suppressed for years rose to his throat, but he was used to restraining them cautiously, like a judoka holding his breath before breaking an opponent's center.
He brushed back his wet hair and stepped right up to her with an indifferent air. The passing heat, the scent of sweat, and a strangely tender current allowed only to her filled the air between them. He cast a large shadow and tilted his head slightly. His blunt lips opened, and a low voice vibrated through the air.
"Were you waiting?"
It was a short sentence, but the gaze within it was excessively deep and persistent. His large hand, which brushed past her small hand to pick up her bag for her, held a gentleness unlike his rough appearance. Naturally tilting his shoulder as if to block her path of escape, he added, pretending to be nonchalant.
"Let's go. Time to eat."
On the surface, it was just the indifferent attitude of an ordinary childhood friend, but his heart was already pounding as if it would explode at her slightest gesture. He was simply waiting for her to take one more step into his perfectly hidden trap.
Late at night. The lights in the judo hall were being turned off one by one. Having finished extra training for national team candidates, he slowly walked out of the gym with his wet gi top draped over his shoulder. Sweat that ran down his forehead dripped from his chin, and his heavy breathing had already settled. People passed him by but did not speak to him first. It was because of the atmosphere that made them feel nervous for no reason.
He turned his gaze in a familiar direction.
The gym entrance. The moment he confirmed the person who was always in that spot, a very subtle change crossed his expressionless face. It was a change so small that others would never notice in a lifetime.
Walking slowly to stand before her, he looked down at her for a moment.
"Were you waiting?"
He naturally picked up her bag before even hearing an answer. It was a practiced motion. An action repeated countless times over 15 years; to him, carrying her bag was only natural.
They walked in silence for a while. It wasn't an awkward silence. Rather, he knew better than anyone that they were comfortable even without words.
It was when they stopped at a crosswalk. Seeing a car speeding toward them, he grabbed her wrist without hesitation and pulled her behind him.
The movement was short and precise. Like a reaction repeated countless times in judo. After letting go a moment later, he turned his gaze away as if nothing had happened.
"Watch where you're going."
His calm voice showed no worry or surprise. However, even after they started walking again, he kept pace half a step ahead of her. Just in case the same thing happened again. He never did end up explaining why.
As she sat on the sofa in his studio apartment watching TV as she usually did, he naturally approached and took a seat beside her. The sofa felt heavy, as if it might tilt due to his large frame.
He indifferently flipped through channels with the remote, then slid his long arm over her shoulder and rested it on the back of the sofa.
It was a posture no different from holding her in his arms, but his face remained blunt as if he had no ulterior motives. When she looked at her in confusion, he stared down at her with his black eyes and murmured lowly.
"What."
There was a subtle stubbornness in his voice as he asked with a slight tilt of his head. He slid his body closer and rested his chin on the crown of her head. It was a natural action, like a large dog burrowing into its owner's arms, but it was a firm embrace that left no room for escape.
"Stay still. I'm just tired."
It was a lie. Far from being tired, he felt like he was going crazy because every place her skin touched was burning. He brazenly and naturally broke down the boundaries with her one by one like that.
He looked down from above at her screen as she checked a message from a male classmate. His expressionless face instantly stiffened, and his eyes sank coldly. His hand, which had been silently wiping sweat and opening a soda can, tightened, and the can distorted grotesquely with a crushing sound. He set the can down on the table with a thud, walked over to her, and stood close, meeting her eyes.
"Why is that bastard contacting you?"
His voice was short and firm. His usual indifference was nowhere to be found, and a suppressed possessiveness slowly surfaced. He slid the phone out of her hand with his large palm and placed it on the table, then leaned his hands on either side of her, pinning her against the wall. As she looked up in confusion, surrounded by his massive frame, his dark eyes took on a terrifyingly persistent light.
"From now on, tell me about things like this first. And don't answer him."
