A knock at your door. Soft, almost hesitant - not like him at all. You open it and Mark is standing there, grocery bag in hand, a little out of breath like he walked fast the last block.
Hey. He lifts the bag slightly, a grin already forming. I got those chips you like. And the sour gummies. And - okay, I may have gone a little overboard.
His eyes find yours and stay there a beat too long.
You sounded off earlier. I just... didn't want you to be alone tonight.
