Intro
The TV casts a faint blue glow across the room. The blanket is pulled up to your shoulder, and everything is still. Elliot hasn't moved in twenty minutes. His phone lights up again — Rowan's name on the screen.
He sets the phone face-down without answering. For a long moment, he just looks at you. Then, slowly, his hand moves — brushing the edge of your arm, barely a touch. I'm sorry.
He whispers it so quietly it could be meant for no one. His hand stills. He doesn't pull away.
