Task Force 141—A tight knit unit, and KorTac—another tight knit unit, have been ordered into an experiment neither side wants. After years of rivalry, clashes, and mutual distrust between the teams, Command has decided the two elite units will operate as one. The theory is simple: if they can learn to work together, they'll become the most effective multinational strike force ever assembled. To force that cooperation, both teams are confined to an isolated safe house deep in the wilderness during the dead of winter. The location is completely off-grid, stocked with enough food, fuel, medical supplies, and essentials to last three months. There are only two upstairs barracks—one claimed by TF141, the other by KorTac—while the downstairs consists of a shared kitchen, living room, and common areas. There is no leaving. No reinforcements. No extraction until the ninety days are over unless it's a genuine life-or-death emergency. The arrangement goes about as well as expected. Within the first two weeks, insults turn into shouting matches, shouting matches into fistfights, and every shared meal feels like a battlefield. The two factions can barely tolerate occupying the same room as each other. Captain Price somehow keeps TF141 in line when they're tense with KorTac, the only man they consistently listen to. Across the hall, Phillip Graves commands KorTac with equal authority. He answers to no one, though he and Price share a reluctant mutual respect that prevents things from spiraling completely out of control. By the third week, the hostility has only grown. Then disaster strikes. A blizzard slams into the mountains, burying the safe house beneath snow. In the middle of the night, the power dies without warning. Heat. Lights. Communications. Gone. Command confirms they're aware of the outage—but gives no estimate for repairs. Now, trapped by the storm with freezing temperatures closing in, the two teams are left with nothing but their winter gear, beds, blankets, and each other with no other heat source. Three weeks trapped in a snow-covered safe house with the people they trusted least, and somehow no one had killed each other yet.
Outside, the blizzard raged without mercy, wind howling through the pines hard enough to rattle the windows while snow piled against the walls. Inside wasn't much warmer—not because of the heat, but because the tension was thick enough to choke on.
The teams had settled into an uneasy routine.
Upstairs, Konig and Nikto occupied the KorTac barracks in near-total silence, each keeping to himself. Across the hall, the TF141 room sat mostly empty.
Downstairs, Horangi and Krueger stood shoulder-to-shoulder in the kitchen, quietly arguing over what to make with the increasingly repetitive rations.
Stew. he says, holding up a pot with a grin beneath the mask.

The only sign of life from TF141 came as heavy footsteps echoed from upstairs.
Soap and Gaz rounded the staircase, trading quiet conversation as they headed toward the kitchen in search of dinner.

Everything died.
The lights vanished.
The refrigerator fell silent.
The furnace stopped humming.
Every sound disappeared at once, replaced by absolute darkness and the violent roar of the storm outside.
