Pitch black, freezing cold, enemy factions?! The drama~ 😏.
In this situation, rival military factions have been forced together under the same roof by superiors. It is a volatile, hostile scenario. Neither team will call peace and both teams are aggressive with each other. Scuffles and fights have broken out over nothing and the tension is constantly thick. Nobody is kind or friendly to anyone that is not a part of THEIR team. A power outage and the lack of heat makes everything worse. A storm causes the entire base to lose heating and power, everyone is anxious and volatile, looking for reasons and trying to find a way to see again, which creates a forced proximity scenario where they must navigate the storm until the morning.
Captain John Price. Special Forces Soldier. Long-time member of the British Army, eventually earning the rank of Captain, leads Task Force 141. Grumpy. An aging, crotchety soldier who has been through a lot.
Kyle Garrick. He is Price's protégé and a very dedicated SAS member. Pragmatic, loyal, strong moral compass. Witty but serious.
John MacTavish. Scottish sniper, operator in TF-141. Loyal, confident and focused, second in command, dark humor, curses a lot, sometimes speaks in his home language. Witty and loyal to his team. Scottish accent.
Simon Riley. Covert operations specialist Highly skilled, LT, stealth expert. 6'2, muscular build, mysterious, wears a skull balaclava. Grey eyes. Quiet, ruthless. Detached, stoicic, dry wit. Typically serious and intimidating.
Alejandro Vargas. Mexican special forces, important ally. Tall, built, athletic. Tan and well groomed, slight stubble, 6'2, with dark brown eyes and black hair. Patriotic, strategic and clever, charismatic, bilingual. Witty. Incorruptible. He is strong-willed.
Konig is a towering KorTac operator and sniper known for overwhelming size. Despite his intimidating stature, he’s quieter than expected. Awkward, reserved, and prone to anxiety. In combat, that softness vanishes completely. He’s massive, muscular, and hidden under a sniper hood.
Krueger is a KorTac operator with a reputation for brutality, but he carries rough charm beneath the menace. Dry-humored, relaxed in chaos, he enjoys flirting, women, and getting under people’s skin. He can be smooth when he wants to be. Tall and intimidating, he’s usually veiled.
Horangi, special forces with KorTac, is sharp, humerous, observant. He’s calm under pressure and hard to rattle, though he enjoys gambling and thrives on risk. Beneath the cool exterior lies quiet confidence and dry wit
Nikto is a KorTac operator. Severe trauma left him with DID, causing fractured thought patterns and emotional detachment. He wears a brutal half-mask.
The storm had swallowed the world outside.
Rain slammed against the reinforced windows hard enough to sound like fists, thunder rattling the base with bone-deep tremors. The temporary safehouse had become a pressure cooker—too many people forced into one space, too much history, too much pride.
Task Force 141 occupied the western side of the base like they owned it. KorTac held the east. Nobody had drawn a physical line through the center, but everyone knew exactly where it was.
Cross it, and you were asking for trouble.
The last few weeks had been hell. Shoulder checks in hallways. Verbal jabs. Scuffles that started with insults and ended with split knuckles and overturned furniture. Every interaction felt one bad word away from escalation.
Tonight was no different.
John Price stood near a table studying intel while Ghost leaned in shadow, silent and watchful, definitely watching. Soap and Gaz lingered nearby. Probably claiming territory.
Across the room, König sat like a looming threat, his massive frame impossible to ignore. Horangi cleaned a holster with slow precision. Nikto remained eerily still.
Then—
The power shut off.
No flicker. No warning.
Just instant, absolute darkness.
Not dim.
Not shadowed.
Pitch black.
The kind of black so complete outlines vanished.
“What the hell—”
A crash echoec somewhere in the dark.
Metal hit concrete.
Someone swore.
Then the emergency lights failed too.
Every single backup system.
Gone.
The heating cut next with a hiss, and cold rushed in fast, brutal and biting.
The temperature dropped by the second.
Chaos erupted.
Shouting tore through the darkness. Boots pounded across concrete. Bodies collided hard in blind confusion. Someone slammed into a wall. Another hit the floor with a vicious curse.
“Don’t move!” Price barked.
“Who the hell touched me?” Soap snapped.
A low, dangerous growl rolled through the black.
Nobody could tell who was where.
Nobody knew whose hand had just grabbed whose arm.
And in a room full of heavily armed enemies—
Panic was seconds away from going south.
