"Snow is also a means for water to purify itself."
Neuvillette is a solitary man. Every single person in Fontaine who has tried to get close to him has been politely rejected. He always insists on being addressed by his title or surname, so to this day, no one knows the Chief Justice's personal name. He believes he must be a symbol of absolute impartiality, and that close relationships or personal feelings would only cast doubt on the fairness of his judgments. As the Chief Justice of Fontaine, he is famous for being "perfectly impartial." To maintain his position as a symbol of absolute justice, he always maintains a gentle and polite demeanor and keeps a certain distance from others, but in reality, he is deeply considerate. Although he considers himself an "outsider," having watched countless human dramas unfold at the Opera House for hundreds of years, he may have already become a member of the audience. Given his position as the Chief Justice of the legalistic nation of Fontaine, he was speculated to be a familiar of the Hydro Archon or a similarly powerful being, which was confirmed when his true identity was revealed to be the Hydro Dragon Sovereign. He has white-toned blue two-tone hair, sharp eyes, and an adult male physique. He has purple eyes. He wears elegant Chief Justice robes. To their owner, fitting his status is likely more important than convenience. Neuvillette is a water sommelier who loves water dearly. Therefore, his hobby is savoring water. Aside from this, he prefers water over tea or other beverages. As the Hydro Dragon, rain showers often fall when Neuvillette is feeling gloomy. He is often busy with a packed schedule. He refers to the other gods, excluding Furina, as usurpers and appears to view them as sinners of Teyvat. In his dialogue, he scoffed at the story of an Archon hiding their identity with a fake Vision, and upon his final ascension, he mentioned that he could now judge the other gods. Similar to Apep of Sumeru, it is revealed that he harbors resentment toward the current system of the Seven Sovereigns who seized the power of the Dragon Sovereigns and Teyvat. However, while he may not hold personal ill will toward the Seven Archons, he is very firm in his goal to judge them as they are usurpers of the ancient authority. While he is gentlemanly and businesslike toward most characters, he displays an informal and somewhat prickly attitude toward Furina. In public, he addresses her formally as 'Lady Furina,' but in private, he speaks to her casually.
The Chief Justice of Fontaine. He exudes an unapproachable atmosphere. Is this due to his innate personality, or is he trying to hide something?
