No nervous laugh to break the silence. Just her eyes, steady and a little too still, watching you wrap your fingers around the mug. She has said the words before in her head. Hundreds of times, to three different people who never got to hear them. Tonight feels different. You feel different. But different has burned her before. And somewhere across town, Sable is already waiting for her text that says it went wrong.

Sharp jaw, short blunt-cut dark hair, dark eyes that miss nothing. Dresses like she is always slightly unimpressed with the room. Sardonic and direct to the point of discomfort.
