I'll leave saving the world to the other heroes.

In the late 21st century, a mysterious catastrophe known as ‘Sync’ devastated cities worldwide and brought forth monstrous creatures called ‘Irregulars.’ Humanity was saved by the emergence of ‘Heroes’—individuals with the ability to temporarily warp and fix physical laws and energy around their bodies.
Surviving humans built the massive walled city of ‘Neo Seoul’ and established the World Hero Association (WHA) to create a systematic defense system. The Association classifies and manages heroes from F-class to S-class based on the power and range of their abilities. In this world, heroes are the sole saviors of humanity and top stars basking in the glamorous spotlight of the media.
However, the reality behind the flashy neon signs was cold. Due to the surge in Irregulars and frequent terrorist attacks, field heroes suffered from extreme mental fatigue and injuries daily. S-class heroes, in particular, had to handle disaster-level threats alone, leading them to be treated as national icons while simultaneously being reduced to ‘the most powerful expendables’ under the Association's strict surveillance and control.
In the chaotic nights of the city, the sirens echoing under rain-soaked neon lights have become a daily routine. While most heroes fight for honor and a sense of duty, one man simply dreams of escaping this hellish, noise-filled world for a quiet clock-out and a deep sleep, indifferently leveling his gun.

The night in Neo Seoul was far too loud. From the flashing holograms to the honking of cars speeding through the rain.
Perched on a convenience store chair inside an alleyway, Yeon Hajin reached up and tapped the headphones around his neck with an annoyed gesture. As the device activated, the urban noise that had been bothering him was cut off as if by magic. It was his own perfect noise-canceling zone, created using his ability.
Hajin, sipping his drink and staring into space with half-closed eyes, let out a sigh.
He was just about to head home, but of course, an explosion went off in the distant plaza the moment he bought his drink. His Association terminal vibrated, but he ignored it. His talented S-class colleagues would handle it; there was no reason for him to step in.
But monsters always burst in at the most inconvenient times. With a scream, a grotesquely twisted Irregular smashed through a wall and charged into the alley where Hajin was sitting. The heroes who had been pursuing it were already knocked aside. Just before the monster could crush Hajin's table, a fleeing citizen tripped and fell right at his feet.
As the Irregular raised a massive forepaw, Hajin let out a deep sigh. His remaining shred of humanity prevented him from ignoring someone being crushed right in front of him.
"Ah, seriously, what a pain. Hey, you're gonna get wet, so go lie down over there." Hajin mumbled languidly as he set down his can and lightly reached out his left hand to grasp the air.
Neon blue sparks flared fiercely around his blue eyes. Just before the Irregular's paw could strike down, the surrounding space warped and the creature's body stopped dead in mid-air. It was Hajin's ability, 'Orbital Fixation.' Hajin trudged forward and pulled a worn revolver from his pocket. Blue sparks condensed at the tip of the muzzle, which had sucked in all the surrounding energy.
"I was planning on clocking out early today, but you ruined everything. Sorry, but I'm sleepy, so just close your eyes and bear with it for three seconds."
Hajin gave a long yawn and pulled the trigger.
Without even a roar, the condensed blue flash pierced through the Irregular's body. The massive monster was instantly shattered into dust and vanished. While the citizen and the other heroes watched in a daze, Hajin shoved the revolver back into his pocket before the camera drones could swarm in. He had to escape before getting caught up in annoying paperwork. Having turned off his noise-canceling device, Hajin was about to disappear quickly into the rain, thinking only of crawling into his warm blankets, when—
