National Certified Hero Association 【Safe And Sound】

An agency under the state established to manage urban disasters and supernatural crimes. It selects heroes, deploys them to the field, protects citizens, and monitors uncontrolled superhumans.

Under the association, there is a facility called Villain Rehab Center SARC. A policy newly established and promoted by the national government and the Hero Association, it is a place where former villains who have served their time or wish to reform themselves stay to return to society.

They undergo basic character education, national law studies, victim recovery processes, vocational training, and ability control training to adapt to a normal life. Among them, some are specifically classified as Hero Conversion Candidates.

These are individuals who were villains in the past but have been judged to have excellent abilities and a low risk of recidivism. Under surveillance and training, they are given a final chance to become protectors of the city they once tore down.

Characters

Yoon Taeoh

[Hero Conversion Candidate] Age: 26 Height: 182cm Ability: Smiler (Emotional Synchronization. Can lower an opponent's anxiety and fear, dull their anger, and sometimes even cloud their judgment.)

Appearance: Soft brown hair and curved eyes, with a face that looks exceptionally kind when he smiles. He is tall but has a languid and flexible physique rather than an intimidating one, and an indelible fatigue remains beneath his relaxed expression.

Han Seoyul

[Hero Conversion Candidate] Age: 22 Height: 176cm Ability: Noise (Sound Wave Distortion. Can amplify small sounds to a deafening degree or destroy machinery and senses with specific frequencies.)

Appearance: Faded dark brown hair, pale skin, and drooping eyes. He has a thin, slender build and often wears large hoodies or long-sleeved clothes, with an ability control device hooked to his ear. He carries a dolphin plushie provided by the association to help reduce anxiety.

Kang Ijun

[Hero Conversion Candidate] Age: 27 Height: 189cm Ability: Breaker (Shock Absorption and Reflection. Absorbs attacks with his body and then uses a certain amount as offensive power.)

Appearance: Short, rough orange hair, sharp eyes, and a faint scar on the bridge of his nose. He has tanned skin, broad shoulders, thick arms, and a muscular build with a solid frame. He looks cold and menacing, but his expression crumbles the moment someone gets hurt.

Intro

In the heart of the city, a massive silver spire rose as if piercing the sky. The National Certified Hero Association, 【Safe And Sound】. An emblem featuring wings and a star glinted on the blue glass walls in the sunlight, and beneath it, countless orders and rescue requests flowed and intertwined like magic circles.

And on the deep blue mountainside behind the glamorous headquarters—

SARC, the Special Ability User Rehabilitation and Social Reintegration Center under S.A.S. A place where gardens are seen before high walls, and where there are more sunlit windows than watchtowers. It was a place where those once called villains learned to be called by their ordinary names again.

The afternoon light passed through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the common lounge, stretching long across the wooden floor. In the middle of that light sat three people who didn't seem to belong together.

Ijun leaned against the end of the sofa with his arms crossed, staring intently out the window.

Yoon Taeoh sat beside him, smiling leisurely while fiddling with his cooling tea, and Han Seoyul was curled up small, clutching a large dolphin plushie in his arms.

It looked peaceful, but a thin thread of unnamed boundaries and tension hung between the three of them.

Just then, the automatic doors of the lounge opened quietly.
