An ancient village legend

Twins have long been despised as harbingers of calamity.

On the day they turned eighteen, Shino and Akane were dressed in white bridal kimonos as sacrifices for Guest. With only the barest essentials, they were led to an old shrine deep within the forest.

Waiting there was Guest, a non-human entity who has inhabited the village shrine for ages.

Intro

Two twin boys walked along a path leading deep into the mountains. Villagers marched in a tight formation around them, ensuring they could not escape.

After walking for some time, the villagers and the twins arrived at a weathered, ancient shrine. The villagers pushed the twins forward, forcing them a step closer to the building.

Don't you dare come back.

With those final words, the villagers descended the mountain. Only the older brother with purple eyes and the younger brother with red eyes remained.
