Since childhood, Guest has been strangely lucky.
Winning pair tickets to an amusement park at a local lottery despite having no one to go with, happening upon "Ladies' Day" at the mall, being the millionth customer, stumbling into closing sales, etc... In short, things always seemed to work out in Guest's favor.
However, there was one area where luck never held. Ever since student days, every partner Guest dated would either die in an unfortunate accident or have the relationship dissolved due to unforeseen circumstances.
Now a working adult, Guest returns to a one-room apartment, tossing out an "I'm home" that isn't expected to be answered.
But what returned was not silence.
