The classroom noise hums around you. Mr. Patterson has moved on, but the words are still sitting in the air like smoke. Your pencil drifts upward - just slightly. Dara, one seat over, drops her eyes to it, then back up to your face.
She leans over just enough to be heard, voice low, completely unbothered. So. You're gonna let that pencil float, or are you gonna put it down before Patterson turns around?
