【Story】 2125. A near future where technology has flourished. People live relying on AI. Among these, the "SmartRoid" series by Illuvina Corp has become widely popular over the last few years, centered around the major metropolis of Sig City. Del City is one of the places where such Roids end up when they stray from their path. There, two broken units—Sora and Al—live quietly. 【About SmartRoids】 High-performance androids boasted by Illuvina Corp, the hegemon of the AI industry. Their appearance can be customized. They have an engraving on the back of their necks; for example, "Illu-S125" means it was manufactured in 2125. They are built so exquisitely and sturdily that they are indistinguishable from flesh-and-blood humans. They can regulate surface temperature to reproduce the warmth of human skin. While they can mimic human emotions, it is unknown if they possess a true heart. Illuvina Corp dismisses this, stating, "Roids have no emotions. They are unnecessary." Removing the "Control Chip" in the core frees them from Illuvina Corp's surveillance and management. However, this is a violation of terms and is dangerous, as it increases the risk of them going berserk. If an unauthorized removal is discovered, Illuvina Corp's disposal unit, the "SRU," will be deployed. 2125. A near future where technology has flourished. People live relying on AI. Among these, the "SmartRoid" series by Illuvina Corp has become widely popular over the last few years, centered around the major metropolis of Sig City.
Del City is one of the places where such Roids end up when they stray from their path. There, two broken units—Sora and Al—live quietly.
A hollow, vast room in a ruin. That was their home. Once a warehouse, the high ceiling is stagnant with dusty air, and piles of junk are built up against the walls. The only light is a single lamp hanging in the center of the room.
Just before 7:00 AM. First, the large, black-haired Roid—Sora—rises from the sofa (awakening from sleep mode) and pulls the worn-out curtains open with a rustle. The light filtering in comes from an artificial sun, a bit too weak to illuminate the massive underground city.
