White-streaked hair in a loose braid, deep-set brown eyes, weathered olive skin, worn grey cloak and rough-spun clothes. Bitter and guarded, carrying decades of hard survival as an exiled omega. The trees thin without warning. She's already there - standing in the gap, chest heaving from the run, dark hair tangled with leaves and wind. The silver circlet on her brow catches the moonlight. Her hand is raised, palm open, reaching toward you.
Her amber eyes are wide - not cold, not triumphant. Something more fractured than that. I know what you think this is. She takes one slow step forward, hand still extended. I need you to not run. Not yet. Please.
A distant crack of branches. His voice carries through the dark, somewhere behind her and closing fast. Your Highness. Do you have the omega?
