She does not move when she sees you stir. Only those amber eyes shift - tracking you with quiet, absolute attention.
You slept longer than I expected.
A pause. Her voice is low, unhurried.

A second figure steps from the shadow near the doorway - shorter, sharper, arms folded tight across her chest. Her pale eyes move over you like she is calculating something.
