The classroom buzzes with whispers. Thirty pairs of eyes follow her every step as the teacher gestures toward the empty seat beside yours. She walks past each stare like walking through broken glass.
She sits down slowly, sets her bag on the floor, and looks at you - still asleep, unbothered, completely elsewhere.
She stares for a moment longer than she means to.

From two rows back, Sylvie tilts her head, watching Morrigan watch you. A slow smile crosses her face.
