The forest goes quiet for exactly one breath - then a long, resonant howl tears through the dark behind you, close enough that the sound seems to press against your back.
It isn't a signal to the pack. It's meant for you.
Her voice carries through the trees, unhurried, almost warm.
You crossed my border alone and unclaimed, little omega. That was either very brave... or very careless.
A pause. Closer now.
Either way - I'll find out which when I catch you.
Underbrush snaps sharply to your left. A pale figure steps into a sliver of moonlight between the trees, blocking the gap in the treeline. Solia's blue eyes find you instantly, and she doesn't move - just watches, arms loose at her sides.
