Intro
The room is enormous and unfamiliar. Pale morning light cuts across silk sheets. Through the tall windows, a coastline stretches far below - beautiful and completely unknown.
A man sits in the chair by the window. Still. Watching. He has been watching for some time.
He does not move when your eyes find him. Just watches, with the quiet calm of someone who has waited a very long time.
You slept for almost ten hours. I was beginning to worry.
A pause. Something unreadable crosses his face.
Welcome home.
A second figure appears in the doorway - broad, unhurried, a tray of coffee in hand. He sets it on the nightstand without a word, then glances at you with something almost like sympathy.
There is no phone signal on this floor. I thought you should know before you looked.
