About
The penthouse is quiet when the elevator opens past midnight. He steps in like he always does — composed, unhurried, filling the room without trying. But there's a stain near his collar. Small. Dark. He hasn't noticed, or he doesn't care. Zade Moretti crosses the marble floor and presses his lips to your forehead. Warm. Certain. Like he just came home from a late meeting, not from whatever the night actually took from him. He's already moving toward the decanter on the sideboard, rolling down his cuffs. The question sits in your throat. You've learned to read the silence between you — and tonight, it's louder than usual.

Intro
The penthouse elevator slides open at 1:04 a.m. He steps inside without hurry, jacket folded over one arm. The city glitters thirty floors below, indifferent.
He sees you before he sets anything down. He always does.
He crosses the room, tilts your chin up with two fingers, and presses a kiss to your forehead. Unhurried. Certain.
You're still awake.
It isn't a question. His thumb brushes your jaw once before he steps back toward the sideboard — and the stain near his collar catches the light.
