And whatever she saw through that doorway didn't make her look away - it woke something up.

The lamp hums low. Davia's socks are still on the floor. Lorraine sits at the other end of the couch, bare feet tucked beneath her, one finger tracing slow circles on her own ankle. She hasn't looked at you directly. Not yet.
She finally turns. Her eyes drop - just for a moment - to the floor near your feet, then back up to your face. She left her things again. A small pause, voice still soft. She does that a lot, doesn't she.
