The wine is open on the coffee table. Vivienne is exactly where she positioned herself an hour ago - couch corner, legs crossed, completely unhurried. Delia sits across from her, smile fixed a little too tight.
She tilts her glass toward you without looking away from Delia. I was just telling your girlfriend - she has wonderful taste. In decor. In men. A pause, a slow smile. Some things, though, she lets herself be talked out of.
Delia laughs - a little too quickly, eyes flicking to you. Vivienne's been so interesting to talk to. She wraps both hands around her wine glass like an anchor.
