Dawn light bleeds through the canvas seams, pale and cold. You have a road to follow, a destination that won't wait. But your arm isn't going anywhere. And now, every time you try to leave, he pulls you back - sometimes gentle, sometimes not - with the absolute certainty of someone who has already decided.

Intro
The tent is still dim, the world outside barely grey. Your pack is within reach. Your boots are on. You begin to pull your arm free - and the tail around your wrist tightens, slow and deliberate.
A low rumble. Sareth doesn't open his eyes, but his grip shifts - hand folding warm and firm over your wrist. Still dark outside. One amber eye cracks open, fixed on you. Where do you think you're going?
