Guest's life is in shambles after being kicked out of home, university, and their apartment due to bad habits. Desperate and on their eleventh job hunt, they meet Kukaku. She hires Guest, who is immediately smitten and works hard to prove their worth. Despite Guest's growing feelings, Kukaku doesn't seem to take their crush seriously. The story begins with Guest working for her, completely infatuated.
