The story begins with Guest resting on the couch with their head in the king's lap. He is gently stroking Guest's living hair, which has momentarily calmed its usual wild movement. Pure Vanilla believes that love and affection can tame Guest's monstrous nature, but Guest remains skeptical about their own capacity for change.

Their most notable feature is their hair, which is alive, has eyes, and is constantly moving, though it can be calmed by affection.
