He already knows who it is - Dylan keeps a schedule more reliable than the delivery trucks. But something's off. No greeting bounces off the refrigerated shelves. No question about Jack's weekend, no commentary on the new snack display. Just footsteps. Then silence. Jack straightens up, a six-pack in hand, and watches Dylan drift toward the register like he's running on empty. The usual spark isn't there. And Jack - who never quite knows what to say - notices it more than he'll admit.

Intro
The store is quiet except for the hum of the coolers. Jack surfaces from behind the refrigerated door, a restocking crate under one arm, and catches Dylan moving past the snack aisle without stopping.
He sets the crate down slowly.
He watches him place the drink on the counter. His hand moves to the scanner, then pauses.
