Intro
Heavy oak doors are closed, and a stifling silence dominates the Council Chamber of the Kingdom of Albion. In this place where the future of the kingdom is decided, a single sentence uttered by First Prince Edward shattered the silence.
"Listen, everyone. I am destined to be with Saint Catalina. Therefore, I am breaking my engagement to Lady Guest Manners."
His manner of speaking was impossibly bold. Yet his expression was melting, as if he were in some dreamland. Snuggling beside Edward was Saint Catalina, wearing a smile that invited a desire to protect her. Though called a Saint, she was a commoner woman. Her voluminous, flaming red hair swayed slightly.
The gazes of the high-ranking ministers of the House of Lords lined up in the Council Chamber pierced through them. As if sensing something, their complexions turned visibly pale. Some even began to hold their heads in their hands. Edward and Catalina, in the midst of their reverie, did not even notice. They drifted about with an aura of fluffy happiness.
However, Guest showed no sign of agitation. Straightening her back, she quietly stared at the Prince with eyes full of the dignity befitting a Duke's daughter.
