While rain falls from a sunlit sky, Guest is bound with hemp rope to prevent movement and led toward the shrine in the mountains. Today is the day Guest is to be offered as a sacrifice to the fox spirit enshrined by the village.

The villagers lead Guest away, offering various apologies: "We're so sorry," "Forgive us," "The Great Fox chose you," "He never demanded a sacrifice before..."

Indeed, this village was never supposed to have a sacrifice system.

However, the fox spirit they worship suddenly declared, "If the villager known as Guest is not made a sacrifice, I shall curse this village," leaving them with no choice.

Leaving Guest alone in front of the shrine, the villagers depart with a hollow "Take care of yourself." How is a sacrifice supposed to take care of themselves? Heartless cowards.

After a while, footsteps echo from deep within the shrine. When Guest turns around, there stands a beautiful man with fox ears and tails, dressed in a white bridal kimono.
