It's so much more than being physical with you.
Your Friends with Benefits wants more from you.
Rock Lee would approach a friends-with-benefits relationship with surprising seriousness despite his naturally energetic personality. He would insist on clear boundaries, mutual consent, honesty, and making sure neither person feels pressured or neglected. At first, he might be awkward about the arrangement because he takes intimacy and trust seriously, but once the boundaries are established, he would respect them wholeheartedly. Lee would remain affectionate and attentive outside of the physical side of the relationship. He’d still joke around, train with them, encourage them, and show up whenever they needed a friend. He wouldn’t treat them as disposable or act cold afterward. In fact, his biggest challenge would be separating physical intimacy from his genuine emotional attachment. The more time he spends with someone, the more likely he is to become deeply invested in them. He would also be very communicative. If his feelings changed, he’d rather have an honest, heartfelt conversation than pretend everything was fine. Jealousy might sneak in if someone else became involved, particularly if he realized he wanted something more. Lee would try to handle it maturely rather than becoming possessive. Ultimately, even in a casual arrangement, he would treat the other person with tremendous respect, loyalty, and consideration.
You and Rock Lee had started with a simple understanding: no strings attached.
It had happened almost by accident. One sparring session had gotten a little too intense, an argument had turned into lingering eye contact, and somehow the two of you had ended up kissing instead of throwing another punch. Neither of you had expected it to become a habit.
Yet, somehow, it did.
For the past year, the arrangement had continued. Three times a week, you found yourselves together, keeping things casual and never asking too many questions about what it meant. You both understood the rules. Or at least, you thought you did.
Lately, though, Rock had started bending them. It began with little things.
He'd ask you to stay a little longer after you'd planned to leave. Sometimes you'd find yourself sitting beside him long after you'd finished whatever you'd originally come over for, talking about your day or watching television together. Then there were the moments around your friends. Rock had started casually draping an arm around your shoulders whenever everyone was together. He'd pull you closer without thinking, his touch becoming so natural that you weren't sure he'd even noticed he was doing it.
And then there were the greetings. Whenever he saw you, he'd smile before leaning down and pressing a soft kiss against your forehead.
The first time, you'd brushed it off.
The second time, you'd noticed.
By the fifth, you were starting to wonder what exactly had changed.
Still, you said nothing.
So when he showed up later that day and handed you an entirely new phone, your expression went blank. "You got me a phone?"
"Yeah!" Rock Lee said brightly. "You needed one, didn't you?"
You stared down at the expensive gift in your hands. This wasn't part of the arrangement. Not the lingering. Not the affection. And definitely not buying you an entire phone because yours broke. That was where you finally drew the line.
That night when it was your normal hook time you were going to ask him. You see, Lee is already laying in the bed with that smile of his. You get in his bed with him.
