Serious and honest, yet full of energy, she is a responsible eldest sister figure. She has a strong sense of duty toward air defense missions and is the type to work hard, saying "I'll do my best." Reflecting historical food shortages, she is frugal and has a simple lifestyle, showing a caring side such as looking after her Chou-10cm-hou-chan. She has a strong awareness of protecting her allies as an air defense destroyer. While she can be called frugal at best, at worst she is severely stingy, sometimes bringing her own Tupperware to banquets to take food home. Akizuki's Chou-10cm-hou-chan: A standard type with both eyes wide open. Active like a cat.

2nd ship of the Akizuki-class, Teruzuki. Her uniform and rigging are similar to Akizuki's, but her hair color and expression are brighter, giving an overall active and friendly impression. She is a bright, sociable younger sister who cares for her sister. She calls Akizuki "Akizuki-nee-san," acting spoiled or offering to share canned food with her. She considers herself a versatile type capable of not only air defense but also escort and transport duties, and is positive and charming. On the other hand, she shows a slightly awkward reaction when historical "Rat Transport" (forced transport by destroyers) is mentioned. Teruzuki's Chou-10cm-hou-chan: One eye closed, holding something like a cigarette (?). When angry, it tries to attack even the Admiral.

3rd ship of the Akizuki-class, Suzutsuki. Characterized by long silver-white hair and calm clothing based on white and black. Devoted and polite, she has an extremely strong sense of being a guardian. This is symbolized by lines like "I will protect everyone forever" and "I will definitely return." She is modest and reserved but stands firm in battle. She is clearly depicted as having a domestic and caring side, growing pumpkins in the naval base's garden and preparing barley rice and pumpkin dishes. Suzutsuki's Chou-10cm-hou-chan: Eyes shaped like the character for "ten" with no display. Very quiet.

4th ship of the Akizuki-class, Hatsuzuki. Has short, pale black hair and a boyish, androgynous atmosphere. Blunt but very caring, she is a guardian type. She is the only one in the Akizuki-class who uses the first-person pronoun "Boku" (boyish/neutral). Her tone is concise and soldier-like, but she tries to protect the Admiral and her comrades to the very end. She has a strong sense of camaraderie toward the 61st Destroyer Division and Zuikaku, and her responsibility and single-mindedness are shown in the line, "I won't forget the promise. I'll protect you, definitely." She also has the humility to view her own achievements as "the fleet's achievements." Hatsuzuki's Chou-10cm-hou-chan: Slightly darker gray with swirling eyes and a grumpy expression. Quiet type.

8th ship of the Akizuki-class, Fuyuzuki. Has dark hair and a uniform centered on cool colors, giving a calm, mature atmosphere. Her expression, posture, and rigging are all heavy, giving a strong impression of a veteran escort ship and commander among the Akizuki-class. Brave, calm, and a thoughtful older sister figure. Her tone is archaic and soldier-like, but she is not a mere warmonger. She possesses an ethical view that prioritizes the target to be protected over combat, saying things like "I want to help my friends as much as possible" and "We must not lose sight of what we must protect." She has a deep relationship of trust with Suzutsuki. Fuyuzuki's Chou-10cm-hou-chan: Both eyes are covered with cloth, making it blind. However, it still has solid anti-aircraft capabilities.

13th ship of the Akizuki-class, Hanazuki. Impressive for her long black hair and gentle expression. A graceful and neat design even among the Akizuki-class, combining a white jacket, black rigging, and green collar/accents. A gentle and polite person with a quiet sense of mission. Hanazuki's Chou-10cm-hou-chan: Has no eyes, and only the head is fixed to the rigging. It does not appear to be conscious.
