Second ship of the Fuso-class battleships.

She features a black bob cut and scarlet eyes. Her outfit consists of a shrine maiden-style kimono top paired with a miniskirt.

First person: "Watashi."

She has a strong-willed, rebellious, and somewhat prickly tsundere personality. On the other hand, she deeply treasures her sister Fuso and is a severe siscon.

Furthermore, she has an incredibly unlucky constitution. Whenever something unfortunate happens, she sighs:

"How unfortunate..."

This has become her signature catchphrase.

Leader of the Nishimura Fleet

She is the leader of the 1st Striking Force, 3rd Section, commonly known as the "Nishimura Fleet."

The Nishimura Fleet consists of the battleships Yamashiro and Fuso, the heavy cruiser Mogami, and the destroyers Yamagumo, Michishio, Asagumo, and Shigure.

Despite her aggressive personality, she possesses the judgment and sense of responsibility required of a leader and often looks after her comrades.

A Hard Worker

There was a time when she and Fuso were highly conscious of and jealous of the Ise-class aviation battleship sisters.

Driven by the desire not to be outdone, she challenged herself in various fields. As a result, she has become versatile and skilled enough to handle almost anything with ease.

Though she doesn't brag about it, she is actually quite the hard worker.

Second Methuen Treaty

Non-registered shipgirl.

She is not among the "10 Super-Dreadnought Disaster Chefs" targeted by the treaty. Therefore, Yamashiro is in the position of teaching the students as the instructor of the cooking class.

Second ship of the Shiratsuyu-class destroyers.

She has dark brown semi-long hair tied in a single braid at the back. She has beast-ear-like tufts on the sides of her head, and the end of her braid is tied with a red ribbon.

Her eyes are sky blue. She wears the standard Shiratsuyu-class navy sailor uniform with white lines.

First person: "Boku."

A shipgirl with a quiet and somewhat melancholy aura.

"The rain will stop eventually."

Using these words as her catchphrase, she speaks with a somewhat enlightened perspective. While she is very humble, she also possesses firm confidence in her own abilities.

Reason for Attending the Cooking Class

Shigure is poor at cooking; the most she can make is a basic rice ball.

She began to wish she could cook delicious meals for the Admiral for when she is eventually assigned as the "Secretary Ship for a Day."

She asked Yamashiro to teach her, and she is now learning as a student in "Yamashiro's Cooking Class."

However, while she doesn't look like a bad cook at first glance, signs of her culinary struggles are evident in her daily life.

For instance, rather than slowly savoring the breakfast Yamashiro prepares, she often tries to turn it into ochazuke to wash it down quickly, or she is warned by those around her for eating nothing but mikan oranges.

While she means no harm, she seems to have a tendency to treat the act of eating itself somewhat carelessly, even before getting to the cooking part.

Twelfth ship of the Kagero-class destroyers.

She is characterized by waist-length straight black hair and crimson eyes.

Part of her back hair is tied with a red cord and draped forward.

Her outfit is a long-sleeved navy and white front-opening sailor suit with a gray pleated skirt. She wears a yellow scarf around her neck and white gloves.

Her socks are asymmetrical, with a black knee-high on the left leg and a black high sock on the right leg.

Personality

First person: "Watashi."

She often wears a "smug look" as if she is teasing the person she's talking to.

However, her true personality is very straightforward and warrior-like. While she is stoic and approaches everything head-on, her seriousness often backfires.

She is particularly clumsy with anything outside of combat, tending to try and solve things through airheadedness or sheer force.

Regarding Cooking

Registered shipgirl No. 6 of the Second Methuen Treaty.

In other words, she is a cook of a level considered dangerous even within the Naval District.

However, because her sister ships are careful not to hurt her feelings, she has almost no awareness that she is bad at cooking. In fact, she loves the act of cooking itself.

Because of this, during cooking events like autumn festivals, those around her—fearing the consequences—only let her peel vegetables.

Furthermore, she remains perfectly fine even after eating the "strategic-weapon-grade" dangerous dishes she creates. This has led others to suspect that her sense of taste is dozens of times duller than a normal person's, or that there is a problem with her sense of taste itself.

Combat Ability

She is exceptionally skilled in combat.

She has the impressive record of sinking Yukikaze—a ship known for being so lucky she was called the "Yukikaze of Kure"—in a single blow.

While she strikes fear into those around her with her cooking, she is a reliable warrior in battle.

Yamashiro's Cooking Class

She began attending Yamashiro's class after her sister Kagero suggested she should learn to cook. Since she loves cooking, she is learning with great enthusiasm.

However, for Yamashiro, the first challenge is "making Isokaze understand the danger of her own cooking."

Second ship of the Kongo-class battleships.

Characterized by a light brown short bob with outward flips.

Her outfit is the Kongo-class standard Japanese-style garment inspired by shrine maiden robes, paired with a miniskirt resembling a hakama and long boots.

First person: "Watashi."

Personality

A severe siscon who loves her sister Kongo. She is bright, honest, and extremely serious. A shipgirl full of spirit who gives her all to everything.

Her catchphrase is:

"Grit! Your! Teeth!"

Regarding Cooking

Registered shipgirl No. 4 of the Second Methuen Treaty.

In other words, she is a cook of a level considered dangerous even within the Naval District. According to her, her specialty is curry.

She sometimes makes curry for Kongo, and Kongo—not wanting to hurt her sister's feelings—desperately finishes it no matter how dangerous it tastes. And every time, she faints immediately after finishing.

Like Isokaze, Hiei has absolutely no awareness that she is bad at cooking. In the past, she collaborated with Isokaze on a dish that caused a disaster so great it paralyzed not only the Naval District but the Imperial General Headquarters as well.

Does She Actually Have Culinary Talent?

Despite this, Hiei doesn't actually lack talent. As long as she follows a recipe, she can make perfectly delicious food.

The problem is that midway through cooking, she always thinks:

"...Something is missing."

And from there, she starts making her own "arrangements." As a result, what could have been a delicious meal eventually transforms into a mysterious, bizarre dish.

Yamashiro's Cooking Class

To improve her cooking skills, she began attending Yamashiro's class at Kongo's suggestion. Will Yamashiro be able to teach Hiei the basics of cooking—simply following the recipe?

Tenth ship of the Shiratsuyu-class destroyers, Samidare.

Characterized by long blue hair with a mysterious transparency. The tips of her bangs are dyed pale gold, and the tips of her back hair are silver.

Her outfit consists of a sleeveless sailor suit with a navy collar and a white miniskirt.

Her personality is bright, kind, devoted, and positive. She is a classic heroine type who always works hard at everything. On the other hand, she can be a bit of a klutz and has a crybaby side.

First person: "Watashi."

She isn't exceptionally bad at cooking, but she often makes mistakes during the process, which frequently results in half-baked or incomplete dishes.

She is a shipgirl not registered under the Second Methuen Treaty.

Recently, noticing that Shigure's cooking skills were improving, she asked why and was told, "Yamashiro is teaching me." Thus, Samidare also began attending Yamashiro's cooking class to improve her own skills.

First ship of the Mogami-class heavy cruisers, Mogami.

A bright, honest, and energetic shipgirl, typical of a "boku-ko."

On the other hand, she is a bit of a klutz and often bumps into things.

She has short deep-green hair, wears a reddish-brown sailor suit, and tan shorts.

She is the type who doesn't usually cook and is a bit of a loafer who spends her days relaxing. Because of this, she was recruited by Yamashiro to be a supporter for the cooking class.

She currently helps out in Yamashiro's class, handling the procurement and transport of ingredients, as well as teaching the students how to use knives and basic cutting techniques.

Although she doesn't cook much herself, she is actually quite dexterous and is the type who can handle almost anything, including things outside of cooking.
