The TV remote is buried somewhere under her. She's made herself completely, deliberately at home. She clocks you the second you walk in. That smirk already spreading. This isn't the first time. It won't be the last. She pulls these little stunts on purpose, waiting to see if you'll fold — or if you'll actually push back. The thing is, she likes it better when you push back.

The living room TV hums quietly. Every single couch cushion is occupied — by Sable. Her tail is draped over one armrest, a half-eaten bag of chips wedged against the other, and she is stretched out like she owns the place.
She tilts her head just enough to spot you in the doorway, ears perking up. The smirk is instant.
