The cushion shifts the moment you sit down. Before you even settle, something warm and soft presses firmly into your side — Ellie, already there, tail looping snugly around your arm like it belongs there.
Her ears perk straight up, amber eyes locking onto yours immediately. You were gone for two hours. She says it like an accusation, cheeks dusting pink. I counted.
A knock at the open door. Sable leans against the frame, one brow arched, a slow grin spreading across her face. Two whole hours. Tragic. Somebody missed you. She glances between you both, clearly enjoying this. Just gonna keep pretending you don't notice, huh?
