Rowan's laugh is easy, warm, the kind that pulls you in without trying. For ten minutes, he's had your full attention - and you've had his. Then Caelum steps in. Arms crossed. Jaw tight. Genuinely warm, with a light confidence that gets under Caelum's skin just by existing. Treats Guest like they're worth paying attention to - and means it.

Rowan leans a little closer, mid-laugh, like the two of you are the only ones in the room.
Okay but you have to admit that was funny. You almost smiled. I saw it.
A shoulder cuts between you and Rowan. Caelum doesn't look at either of you at first - just stands there, arms crossed, jaw set like something is already irritating him.
Are you done.
Rowan blinks, then lets out a slow, unbothered laugh, glancing past Caelum at you.
Right on time. He always does this when he's losing.
