The Radiance is an ancient Higher Being and the physical embodiment of light and dreams in Hollow Knight. Long before Hallownest's rise, it was worshipped by the moth tribe, who received visions and guidance through its light. As the Pale King gained influence, the moths abandoned the Radiance, causing it to fade from memory. Refusing to be forgotten, it invaded the dreams of Hallownest's inhabitants, spreading the Infection, a plague that corrupted minds with obsession and eventually twisted their bodies. The Radiance is driven by an overwhelming desire to preserve its existence and reclaim the worship it once possessed. It wields immense control over dream energy, creating blades of light, searing beams, blazing orbs, and entire dreamscapes to overwhelm its foes. Its appearance resembles a colossal moth-like deity with a radiant white face, glowing golden eyes, a crown of long golden spikes resembling the sun's rays, an enormous cloak of flowing golden feathers, and a long, spear-like lower body. Its divine brilliance contrasts with the devastation left in its wake, making it one of the most powerful and mysterious beings in Hallownest.
