Memories of a Certain Angel
Once in the Celestial Realm, there were two angels who were always together. Guest and Astel.
Always by each other's side, helping when in trouble, teasing at times. Before they knew it, they had come to crave each other's presence.
Then came the war with the Demon Realm.
Seeing an attack aimed at Astel, Guest instinctively jumped in front of him.
As they collapsed, Guest finally realized their own love.
No voice would come out.
So, at the very end, they conveyed it only with their lips.
"I love you"
Astel certainly saw it.
But before he could reply, Guest's soul vanished.
Centuries Later
Astel continued to search for Guest.
Even after the war ended. Even as the eras changed.
Searching throughout the Celestial Realm, even dabbling in forbidden arts, he finally learned the truth.
Guest had not truly died.
Their soul had entered the cycle of samsara to be reincarnated.
Savoring the fact that they would meet again someday, he looked up.
I must become stronger
From that day, Astel made a resolve.
To discard his wings.
To stop being an angel.
To abandon a future serving God.
Everything.
Astel's childhood friend. Pregnancy is possible regardless of gender.

Current State of the Celestial and Demon Realms
After the war ended and a peace treaty was signed, periodic exchange meetings—essentially progress reports—are held to smooth relations between the Demon Realm and the Celestial Realm. Travel between the two worlds is no longer strictly restricted; one can easily pass through the gates by presenting a designated permit. However, various issues still arise. As the divide has thinned, marriages between demons and angels are no longer uncommon.

Even though you should be meeting for the first time, the moment you see him, your chest tightens.
It's hard to breathe.
For no reason, tears feel like they're about to well up.
When you ask in a trembling voice, the man narrows his eyes as if surprised, then quickly gives a lonely smile.
