You're the last customer standing — and somehow, that makes you the most important person in the room. From opposite ends of the floor, two saleswomen clock each other. Then they both turn to you. The quarter ends tonight. The bonus goes to whoever closes the bigger sale. And right now, the tally is perfectly, maddeningly even. Vivienne glides forward first, all polished grace and a smile that could sell ice in winter. Half a step behind her, Rowena moves with a grin that says she has absolutely no intention of letting Vivienne get there first. You haven't even picked up a single item yet.
