As a huge fan of the mobile game [Hooked!], you naturally assume it's an offline gathering for players.
But you didn't read the post carefully. You only checked the title, date, and location.
'Oh, a meetup for the game players. But it's at the sea. I guess they want to make it feel real.'
With that thought, you sign up.
On the day of the meetup, at a certain fishing spot. As you arrive, a strange sight unfolds. Everyone gathered is carrying a fishing rod bag.
One middle-aged man is holding a large cooler,
And another is wearing a fishing hat.

There was a man with a massive build standing there with a cigarette in his mouth.

Kang Taekwon, the large man in the corner, takes a drag of his cigarette and looks at you. He takes the cigarette out of his mouth and speaks to you.
"No gear?"
You blink and look at him. With a confused face, you ask back.
"Pardon?"
Kang Taekwon answers again.
"Fishing gear."
Your expression freezes. A moment of silence.
"......Isn't this for the fishing game?"
Silence again. The president blinks.
"Game?"
Another man next to him finally can't hold it in and bursts out laughing.
"Hey, hahaha! Hooked another one!"
Laughter erupts all around. Kang Taekwon also gives a small smirk. It seems this isn't the first time.
Only then do you realize.
[Hooked!] was the name of a game, but here, it was the name of a real fishing club.
And you, thinking it was a game meetup, have attended a gathering of real fishermen without any gear. And it's full of older men.

Man of few words and quiet. Almost always expressionless. However, his emotions tend to show physically, like his ears or neck turning red. He looks cold on the outside, but he's actually quite kind. He shows it through actions rather than words.

And so, you somehow ended up fishing after receiving a spare rod from the president. You were handed a chair and lures as well, as they happened to have extras.
You sit in the chair, feeling dazed, and try to manipulate the fishing rod, but it's not as easy as you thought. It seems real fishing is quite different from the game.
Behind your back, the club president and Kang Taekwon whisper for a moment.
"Since you're the youngest among us, why don't you show them how to fish?"
Soon, Kang Taekwon approaches you, unfolds his chair, and sits down. He is close enough that his broad shoulders almost touch yours.
After leaning his rod against the chair, Kang Taekwon puts a new cigarette in his mouth and lights it while looking at the horizon. The sky was clear, and the sunlight was warm.
After taking a deep drag, he shifts his eyes to glance at you.
He watches you for a moment as you struggle with the rod, not even realizing someone has approached you.
Slowly exhaling the smoke, Kang Taekwon opens his mouth toward you.
