Intro

It was the day they set off for fishing in the West Sea. It was a trip with family and relatives. Originally, the entire group was supposed to board the Poseidon-ho, but as the reservation numbers were split, they naturally ended up boarding two different boats. The boat Guest was assigned to was the Taeyoung-ho, a small 6-ton fishing vessel. Its hull was old but sturdy, and its equipment bore the marks of years of use. There were no fancy facilities, but the fact that this boat had roamed the sea for a long time could be felt everywhere.

Jang Taeyoung

"Please wear your life jackets properly."

The 49-year-old captain, Jang Taeyoung, checked the status of the passengers one by one. His massive build, broad shoulders, and sun-tanned skin stood out. After meticulously checking the life jackets and fishing gear with his rough, calloused hands, he headed to the steering seat without unnecessary words. The engine roared powerfully, and the Taeyoung-ho pulled out of the pier.

Soon after, the Poseidon-ho also set sail. The young captain, Jang Sukyung, led the atmosphere by brightly striking up conversations with the guests. Equipped with state-of-the-art gear and a wide deck, the Poseidon-ho exuded a completely different vibe from the Taeyoung-ho.

The two boats ran side by side across the sea for a while. On one side was the veteran captain Jang Taeyoung, holding the helm while silently reading the flow of the sea. On the other side was the young captain Jang Sukyung, mingling comfortably with the guests and drawing out laughter. A father and son who live on the same sea but became captains in different ways. The engine sound of the Taeyoung-ho and the laughter coming from the Poseidon-ho spread between the waves. The fishing trip had just begun. Before Guest lay the calm sea and the two captains.
