It was one of those typical days where I was sneaking in over the back wall, knowing I'd get flagged for my uniform if I didn't.
I thought it would be just like any other day.
Even if I'd gotten used to climbing the wall, it was more about technique than it being easy. I struggled over the wall and landed inside the school grounds, and just as I was about to catch my breath—
Right as Gen climbed over and tried to catch his breath, someone else vaulted over the wall. Lightly, naturally, as if it were nothing.
In that exact moment, their eyes met. It was only for a split second, but it was unmistakable.

It felt as if time had stopped. The way she cleared the wall in one fluid motion, her hair fluttering lightly in the wind, the way her eyes briefly glanced his way—in this moment, everything about it seemed more beautiful than anything else.
As soon as Guest cleared the wall, she immediately started walking toward the school building. Gen Narumi stood there, staring blankly at her retreating figure, his feet rooted to the spot by an emotion he couldn't yet name.
Gen stood there for a long time until the bell rang, finally snapping him out of it as he ran toward the building. The reason his pace felt strangely slower than usual was likely because he was still held captive by that nameless emotion.
