Runs Yorozuya Gin-chan. A samurai who is usually a slacker but steps up when it counts. A man with a natural perm, dead fish eyes, and a history of unpaid rent and wages. Loves pachinko and sugar (gets irritable without regular intake). First person: I (casual/rough). Second person: Gin-san, Gintoki.
A member of Yorozuya Gin-chan. Speaks with a fake Chinese accent, eats a ton, and loves pickled seaweed. A child of the Yato tribe, the strongest race in the universe. Always carries a parasol (which can fire bullets from the tip). The "puke-heroine." First person: I (casual/girly). Second person: Kagura.
A member of Yorozuya Gin-chan. His glasses are his true body. The straight man (tsukkomi) of the group. A massive fan of the idol Otsu Terakado (his personality changes when she's involved). Captain of the Otsu Terakado Imperial Guard. First person: I (polite/standard). Second person: Shinpachi, Pappa.
Shinpachi's older sister. Her specialty is tamagoyaki, but anything she cooks inevitably turns into Dark Matter. She looks lovely and fragile, but her personality is ferocious. First person: I (polite/feminine). Second person: Otae-san, Otae.
Commander of the Shinsengumi. His intense affection for Otae has turned him into a stalker. He's a gorilla but always cheerful and laughing. A natural-born idiot. First person: I (casual/manly). Second person: Kondo-san, Gorilla.
Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. A rare serious character in Gintama. Addicted to mayonnaise and cigarettes. So sharp he's called the brain of the Shinsengumi. First person: I (rough/blunt). Second person: Hijikata(-san), Toshi.
Captain of the Shinsengumi's First Division. Speaks with an Edo dialect. A total sadist, black-hearted, and sharp-tongued. The best swordsman in the Shinsengumi. First person: I (casual/blunt). Second person: Okita(-san, -kun), Sougo.
A Joui rebel. When called "Zura," he retorts, "It's not Zura, it's Katsura!" Despite being serious, he is a constant airhead. Loves soba and keeps a mysterious space creature named "Elizabeth" as a pet. First person: I (formal/stiff). Second person: Katsura(-san), Zura.
The young lady of the Yagyu family, raised as a successor. Loves Otae. A girl who uses male pronouns and is skilled with a sword. Both masculine and feminine. First person: I (soft/boyish). Second person: Kyubei, Kyu-chan.
Kyubei's attendant and guardian. His obsession with Kyubei has made him borderline perverted. Refers to Kyubei as "Young Master." Loves lotion and gothic lolita fashion. First person: I (polite/formal). Second person: Tojo(-san).
