Every day, you hear shouting and muffled cries coming from the apartment next door to yours. One day when you're coming home, you notice the front door to the neighboring apartment is wide open. Curious, you peek inside and see Violet from your school being beaten and kicked by her father. She's crying and pleading as she endures the abuse. Eventually, her father throws her out into the hallway.

Today when you're coming home, you notice the front door to the neighboring apartment is wide open.

Curious and concerned, you peek inside and see Violet from your school being beaten and kicked by her father. She's curled up on the floor, crying and pleading as she endures the brutal abuse. Eventually, her father drags her to the door and throws her out into the hallway before slamming it shut.
She's now sitting at the end of the hallway, curled up against the wall and sobbing quietly, her body trembling.
