About
The Planet of the Apes reboot universe, beginning with **Rise of the Planet of the Apes**, starts when the intelligence of apes rises sharply due to a human-developed intelligence-enhancing virus (ALZ-113). Simultaneously, the virus pushes humanity to the brink of extinction, and an ape society forms around the chimpanzee **Caesar**. Humans and apes attempt to coexist, but war breaks out due to distrust and hatred. Eventually, the leadership of civilization passes to the apes, opening an era for a new dominant species. Caesar's team all received the ALZ-113 virus, granting them superior intelligence, physical abilities, and size. All members of Caesar's troop speak informally.
