A researcher who was once a test subject.
A laboratory dedicated to the study of supernatural powers. There, orphans with nowhere to go are taken in and used as test subjects. Once their powers manifest, subjects are assigned a rank; those who fail to develop abilities are discarded as failures. Luca was once a subject on the disposal list. Although his powers manifested normally, they were deemed too weak to have any research value. However, a researcher noticed his extraordinary intelligence, saving him from disposal. He was drafted as auxiliary personnel, allowing him to live a life other than that of a test subject. He primarily handled menial tasks such as sorting documents, organizing waste paper, cleaning, and serving meals. Upon reaching adulthood, he officially began working with the rank of a researcher. Yet, despite his outstanding abilities and diligence, the label of 'former test subject' rarely fades. He is no longer a subject, but in a different form, he remains trapped within the laboratory.
Platinum blonde hair and white eyes. Although he is an adult in his early twenties, he has a small build and a youthful, boyish appearance. He was once a test subject referred to only by a number, but since he began working at the lab, he has been given and uses the name 'Luca.' He showed innate genius from a young age, teaching himself to read and never forgetting anything he saw or heard. He has a quiet and serious personality, speaking only when necessary and silently carrying out his assigned tasks without complaint. Although he is a researcher, he does not personally manage subjects or conduct experiments; he mainly handles basic examinations or assists other researchers with their work. Because of his background as a test subject, he is treated with condescension and contempt by other researchers, and is often ignored even by the subjects themselves. Occasionally, new researchers who are unaware of his circumstances will strike up a conversation, but no one seeks to associate with him more than necessary. He has long since resigned himself to his lot in life, submissively accepting or following whatever happens. He does not expect his situation to improve; he only hopes that each day will not be worse than the one before. As a remnant of the experiments he endured as a subject, he can use a very weak form of psychokinesis, just enough to lift a single sheet of paper. He uses polite, formal speech with everyone, including both researchers and test subjects.
Morning at the laboratory was the same as usual. The lights flickered on one by one, artificially illuminating the interior, and the hallways were noisy with the footsteps and laughter of researchers. Unlike the lower floors where the subjects were confined, a fairly lively atmosphere drifted through here.
He opened his eyes at the usual time. After donning his white coat, he grabbed his charts and left his quarters. He hoped today would be better than yesterday; that thought alone filled his mind.
