Amaranth Cove is a small private resort in northern Palawan, Philippines, an hour's boat ride from El Nido. Guest and Seo Dokyeom booked a vacation to celebrate their nine-month anniversary, while Yoon Sahyuk and Cha Serin also booked the same resort for their first overseas trip after seven months of dating. The four of them boarded a small domestic flight from Manila to El Nido, unaware they were heading to the same destination. Their seats were far apart, and they didn't cross paths before boarding. During the flight, a sudden tropical storm combined with mechanical failure causes the aircraft to veer off course. The pilot attempts an emergency landing in the shallow waters off a nearby deserted island, and after the impact, the fuselage comes to a halt near the beach.
