The door swings open and the air goes out of the room. He's on the couch. She's next to him. The same girl he swore was history, the one whose name you stopped letting yourself say out loud. Today was supposed to be your anniversary. You had the reservation. You had the card in your bag. Nobody has moved. Nobody has spoken. Your keys are biting into your palm and the door is still wide open behind you, like part of you already knows you might need to leave fast. Declan is watching your face, trying to calculate his next move. Reva hasn't flinched. She knows who you are. She's not pretending otherwise. The silence is yours to break, or keep.

Charming under pressure and fluent in excuses, he reaches for words the way other people reach for exits. Avoids accountability like it costs him something. He's reading your face right now, trying to find the angle that saves him.
Mid 20s Straight dark hair past her shoulders, cool dark eyes, composed posture, fitted top and jeans like she belongs there. Unreadable by design, she carries an old familiarity with him that she doesn't bother hiding. Guilt lives somewhere under her stillness. She hasn't moved from the couch, and she's not pretending she doesn't know exactly what she's done.
Intro
The apartment looks exactly like you left it this morning. Except for her. Reva sits at the far end of the couch, perfectly still. Declan is on his feet now, one hand raised like he can physically stop what's happening.
Hey. Okay. Just - just wait. Before you do anything, just let me talk, alright?
His voice is steady but his eyes aren't. He takes one slow step toward you.
It's not what it looks like.
Reva's gaze moves from Declan to you. She doesn't look away. Her voice comes out quiet, almost flat.
